Passengers who rely on VIP Jeoun Transport Services for nationwide travel will have to adjust their budgets from today, April 8, following the company’s announcement of a nationwide upward review of its fares.
The transport operator says the new pricing structure will apply across all its routes, covering both its standard “tour” buses and executive coach services.
The decision, according to management of the company, has been necessitated by rising operational costs, particularly fuel prices, spare parts, and general maintenance expenses.
Under the revised fares, travelers on some of the busiest routes will see noticeable increases. For instance, a standard ticket from Accra to Kumasi will now cost GH¢120, while passengers heading to Tamale will pay GH¢290.
Longer journeys to destinations such as Bolgatanga and Wa have also been adjusted to GH¢330 and GH¢320 respectively.
For those who prefer executive coach services, the changes are even more pronounced.
The Accra–Kumasi route will now cost GH¢150, while Accra to Tamale has been pegged at GH¢360. Other long-distance routes, including travel to Navrongo and Bawku, have also seen significant upward revisions.
