The radio XYZ presenter who alleged that Joy News’ Manasseh Azure Awuni will be killed in 11 months’ time by members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), says he was influenced by spirits.
This comes after the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) renowned Journalist opined that the ruling New Patriotic Party will kill Joy News’ investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni in eleven months if state security do not protect him.
Joy News reported that a militia group associated with the NPP is being trained at the Christiansburg Castle otherwise known as Osu Castle in Accra.
Mugabe Maase on his show “Inside Politics” on Radio XYZ days after the expose descended heavily on the NPP.
He alleged the NPP will kill Manasseh Azure for exposing them within eleven months if the security agencies do not protect him.
“If the security agencies do not protect him they will finish him, they will get rid of him, I speak without fear or favour, this is a gift God has given to me”.
He added, “The fake ones (Prophets) can come out and say whatever they like but I’m speaking in the spiritual realm. Manasseh Awuni, I am speaking to your parents and I’m not speaking as Mugabe but the Holy Spirit is using me”.
“I’m repeating, if the security agencies do not protect him, the NPP will kill him as they did it to Ahmed Hussein Suale. The truth is one and as for me they can’t touch me and if you try me you will die first”, he said confidently.
Speaking in response to the threat at a press conference to brief journalists on the status of recent cases under investigation by the department, the CID boss said Mugabe Maase claimed he was under spiritual influence when he made the claim that the life of the Manasseh Azure Awuni was under threat.
DCOP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah said the Radio XYZ journalist was invited to assist in police investigation since he announced a date the supposed assassination was to take place.
“Following the airing at XYZ that some politicians were planning to kill Manasseh and Manasseh also received some text messages…That case is under investigation. Mugabe was invited to come and assist because he provided dates that this assassination will take place. When he was invited, he said he was under the spirit. Mugabe has been charged and he is before court. Tomorrow [Wednesday] he will be before court,” the CID boss said.
