Wild Search for Journalist’s Killers
THE POLICE in Bekwai in the Ashanti region have intensified their search for the killer/killers of a popular female radio personality in the area, THE PUBLISHER has been reliably informed.
Portia Adjeiwaa, a native of Asante Mampong, who works with Dess FM, a local radio station at Asante Bekwai, was found dead in a pool of blood in her room around 5:30 pm Sunday.
There was a deep cut in between her breast area when her body was discovered, giving a strong indication that perhaps, she was stabbed by her killers.
The body of the deceased, who worked as a newscaster and a front desk attendant at the radio station, has since been deposited at the morgue for autopsy and for further investigation.
A police source told the paper that the security agencies in the Ashanti region in general are making frantic efforts to bring the culprits to book as soon as possible.
According to the police source, which demanded anonymity, everything pointed to the fact that Portia was strategically killed by someone.
The source said preliminary investigations have showed that the deceased struggled with her killer or killers before she was eventually overpowered and stabbed in the heart.
Our deep-throat source also hinted that the police had already invited some people for questioning, adding that the security agencies are gradually making some headway in their resolve to arrest the killers of the broadcast journalist.
