WONTUMI FIGHTS ANAS Over Latest Exposé

ASHANTI REGIONAL Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka ‘Wontumi’, is up in arms against ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

He argued that Anas’ works are not up to international standards, noting that the award-winning journalist only entrap people to become rich.

Wontumi has therefore entreated the public to reject the work of Anas hencefoth, urging the journalist to join any of the security agencies if he really wanted to do proper investigative work.

Anas’ Latest Work

Anas’ latest investigative work, which was shown on television for the first time on Wednesday, captured some corrupt activities of some people in the mining sector.

Wontumi’a Special Aide, Andy Owusu, was also captured in the video taking bribes from some undercover journalists to assist them to bend the rules against illegal mining.

Wontumi’s Reaction

 Asked about the capture of his aide in the latest investigate piece, Wontumi, who was speaking on Nhyira FM, said “Whatever happened is between Andy and those people in the video”.

The Ashanti Regional NPP chairman, however, slammed Anas for entrapping people to make money in return, saying “Anas and his people recently tried to entrap me through my elder brother. He has disgraced Ghana police and soldiers with just GH¢300 bribe and denting Ghana’s image in the eyes of the international community”
