Wrexham to Host Chelsea in FA Cup Fifth Round

Wrexham will host Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup after the draw was made on Monday, according to ESPN news.

The Welsh club earned this big match after beating Nottingham Forest in the third round and then defeating Ipswich Town on Friday. That win against Ipswich helped Wrexham reach the last 16 of the competition for the first time in 29 years.

The club, owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is also pushing for another promotion this season, which could take them into the Premier League.

Chelsea, who have won the FA Cup eight times, will travel to Wrexham for the fifth-round clash. The London side lost three straight FA Cup finals between 2020 and 2022 and will hope to avoid another disappointment this season. They started their campaign strongly with a 4-0 victory over Hull City on Friday.

Arsenal will travel to face Mansfield Town as they continue their fight for trophies on several fronts. Arsenal are currently four points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. They have also reached the Champions League knockout stage after winning all eight of their league-phase matches.

The team will play Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final next month. Now they must overcome Mansfield, who reached the fifth round for the first time since 1975 after beating Burnley 2-1.

Manchester City will take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park in another exciting match between two Premier League teams. City have finished as runners-up in the last two FA Cup finals and are aiming to reach the final again.

In other matches, Fulham will play Southampton, Port Vale or Bristol City will face Sunderland, Leeds United will meet Norwich City, Wolverhampton Wanderers will host Liverpool, and West Ham United will take on Brentford.
