YAMMIN FIGHS NPP OVER KEJETIA

THE NEW Patrirot Party (NPP) has been lambasted over the late opening of the Kejetia/Central Market Redevelopment Project in Kumasi.

A top member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yammin, has insisted that the late opening of the facility is a deliberate ploy of the NPP government.

According to him, the project is a brainchild of the erstwhile NDC government and the NPP doesn’t want to give credit to them.

He said the first phase of the project had been completed for some months now but is still not opened for public use.

“When we started the project at Kejetia, they accused the then President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC of digging for gold from the Kejetia Terminal.

“In fact, the NDC administration came under huge condemnation in Kumasi for starting the Kejetia project because they said we were digging for gold there.

“Now the project is ready and they are dragging their feet to open it because they know that the NDC will get the credit for the project”, he pointed out.

Yammin, who was speaking on UTV, said it is an open secret that the Kejetia project was executed by the NDC nobody can therefore take the credit away from them.
