Annoh-Dompreh Wins Court Case Challenging His Electoral Victory

The High Court in Koforidua has dismissed a petition which sought to render invalid, the 2024 electoral victory of Frank Annoh-Dompreh as the Member of Parliament for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency.

Presiding judge, His Lordship George Krofa Addae, explained that the Court found no merit in the prayers of the petition to invalidate the results declared by the Electoral Commission for said elections and therefore ruled in favour of an application by lawyers of Annor-Dompreh to dismiss the petition.

The petition to declare the electoral victory of Frank Annoh-Dompreh as invalid was filed by the 2024 parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Amenorpe Philibert Fummey.

The Court dismissed the petition and awarded a cost of GH¢25,000 against the petitioner, Amenorpe Philibert Fummey.

Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Minority Chief Whip, on December 21, 2024, was declared as the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency 2024 parliamentary elections winner following the re-collation exercise at the Greater Accra Regional Electoral Commission office in Ridge.

Mr. Annoh-Dompreh secured 29,640 votes, while Fummey Philibert of the NDC garnered 29,433 votes.
