Ashanti REGSEC warn lake road stubborn drivers

THE ASHANTI Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has warned drivers that ply the Atonsu-Kyirapatre Lake road to behave properly to avert arrest and prosecution.

According to REGSEC, some commercial car operators, especially those that operate at the Dompoase Junction, are operating illegally.

REGSEC has complained bitterly that these drivers are not patronizing the newly constructed bus terminal, which is located at the Dompoase Junction.

Instead, the commercial drivers are operating in the newly constructed lake road road, thereby putting the lives of the drivers, passengers and other road uses in great danger.

According to REGSEC, the illegal operations of the commercial drivers at the Dompoase Junction also poses serious threat to the sustenance of the newly constructed lake road.

In a press statement, authored by the REGSEC Boss, Simon Osei Mensah, said REGSEC would arrest all commercial drivers who park on the shoulder of the road to load passengers.

According to him, police personnel would be stationed at the Dompoase Junction and they would not hesitate to arrest any stubborn driver that would breach the REGSEC directive.

Simon Osei Mensah stated emphatically that any driver that would be arrested for breaching the directive would not be spared but would be sent to court for prosecution.
