Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif has earned a nomination for Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards.
Known globally for his hit song “Kwaku the Traveller,” this marks a major moment in his career and a proud one for Ghana.
Black Sherif is nominated alongside top international artists, including Ayra Starr and Rema from Nigeria, Tyla from South Africa, Any Gabrielly and MC Luanna from Brazil, Ezra Collective and Basky from the UK, Joé Dwèt Filé and SDM from France, and Uncle Waffles from Swaziland.
The 25th edition of the BET Awards will be hosted by comedian Kevin Hart on June 9 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This year’s event is a special one for the BET brand, with Kendrick Lamar leading the nominations with 10 nods, including Album of the Year and Video of the Year.
Nominees for Best New International Act have also been revealed, with names like Shallipopi (Nigeria), Abigail Chams (Tanzania), and Dlala Thukzin (South Africa) joining fresh talents from Brazil, the UK, and France.
