BOSTenergies supports Ghana Medical Trust Fund with GH₵1m

BOSTenergies has donated GH¢1 million to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) to support the provision of specialised healthcare for Ghanaians battling chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

The donation is expected to strengthen the Fund’s efforts to finance treatment for patients who cannot afford specialised care, expand access to critical medical interventions and ease the financial burden on affected families.

Presenting the cheque, the Managing Director of BOSTenergies, Afetsi Awoonor, said the company was proud to support an initiative that is making a significant impact on the lives of Ghanaians.

“Healthcare is one of the greatest investments any nation can make. At BOSTenergies, we believe every Ghanaian deserves the opportunity to receive quality medical care regardless of their financial circumstances. The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is providing hope to people who had almost given up, and we are proud to support this noble national initiative,” he said.

Mr Awoonor described the donation as part of the company’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and called on other corporate organisations to support the Trust Fund.

“This contribution is not simply a donation but an investment in lives, families and the future of our nation. We encourage Corporate Ghana to come on board because together we can transform healthcare and ensure that no patient is denied treatment because of cost,” he added.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Fund, the Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, expressed appreciation to BOSTenergies for its support and confidence in the Fund’s mission.

She said the contribution would directly support patients requiring specialised treatment for chronic diseases and provide hope to families facing significant healthcare costs.

“This generous donation will translate directly into lives saved. It will help us support more patients requiring specialised treatment for chronic diseases, provide hope to families who have exhausted every option, and strengthen our efforts to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all Ghanaians,” she said.

Ms Obuobia Darko-Opoku described the donation as a strong vote of confidence in the Fund and stressed the importance of partnerships with the private sector in expanding access to specialised healthcare.

She encouraged businesses, institutions and individuals to support the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, noting that all contributions to the Fund are 100 per cent tax-deductible, enabling companies to fulfil their corporate social responsibility while benefiting from tax incentives.

The donation comes as Ghana continues efforts to strengthen sustainable financing for specialised healthcare and highlights the growing role of public-private partnerships in improving access to medical treatment.
