Shatta Wale Blasts Team and UK Event Organisers

Ghanaian dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has publicly criticised members of his own team and the organisers of his recent ShattaFest concert in the United Kingdom.

During separate TikTok Live sessions, the musician expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of support from his crew and serious safety concerns at the event.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session that was shared on X on August 3, 2026, Shatta Wale said he carries the entire burden of the Shatta Movement alone. According to him, he is the only one working hard to make money while others around him depend on him for support.

“They are all fools. I am the only person managing the entire Shatta Movement, and no one gives me money. No one in my crew can say they bring in money. They are always there, and I am the one who goes out to look for money to support them and keep the team going.

“When I send them to the house of a billionaire, they can’t even bring me money. Even the fans create opportunities for me, yet the people closest to me can’t do anything to help me,” he said.

The award-winning musician also directed his frustration at his public relations manager, Sammy Flex. Shatta Wale said he believes Sammy Flex spends too much time talking about fellow musician Stonebwoy instead of focusing on promoting his brand.

“Recently, I was talking to Sammy Flex. I told him to stop talking about Stonebwoy on the podcast every single day. He still thinks we are in the radio era. He doesn’t understand the podcast he is doing,” he added.

Apart from expressing disappointment in his team, Shatta Wale also made fresh allegations against the organisers of the Party in the Park event in the United Kingdom. He accused them of creating unsafe conditions by allowing vendors to bring gas cylinders, cooking oil and other cooking equipment into the concert venue.

Speaking during another TikTok Live session on August 2, 2026, the dancehall artiste claimed that the organisers misled fans, vendors and authorities about the nature of the event. He said some vendors arrived prepared to cook food because they had been told the programme was Party in the Park.

“Show that we’re doing, someone brought a gas cylinder. The people brought that because you lied to them that it was Party in the Park. You lied to the fans, the council and the people who organised the event,” he alleged.

Shatta Wale questioned why cooking activities were allowed at a music concert, arguing that the situation could have put the lives of fans and performers in danger.

“Did they think I’m a caterer? You would see someone carrying oil, and when you ask them, they would say they’re to fry yam at the show. You’re coming to set up fire at my show. What kind of life is that? Do you want the cylinder to blast at my show?” he asked.

The musician said he would not accept practices that he believes could endanger lives. He also accused some event organisers of failing to deal honestly with Ghanaian musicians.

“You people lie to Ghanaian musicians a lot. I’m different from the Ghanaian musicians you guys deal with. Why don’t you tell the people the truth?” he stated.

Shatta Wale further alleged that the organisers failed to clearly explain the nature of the event to the relevant authorities and partners before it took place.
