THE PRESIDENT of Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), Mr. Ahmad Ahmad, has paid homage to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The astute football administrator met with the Asante Monarch at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti region, on Monday.

Mr. Ahmad Ahmad, who is currently in the country to receive a doctorate award, decided to visit the Manhyia Palace to show respect to Otumfuo.

Addressing journalists in Kumasi, he said “I am in Ghana and we all know the respect and powers that the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II wields.

“Africans we respect our traditional leaders and monarchs and so if I am in Ghana, it is important that I come to Kumasi and pay home to the Asantehene.

“Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s powers and respect is not recognized in Ghana and Africa alone, he is highly respected and recognized across the globe.

“So, if I am in Ghana for a short visit, it is prudent that I take time to visit him at his palace in Kumasi and pay home to him”, the CAF president stated.

Mr. Ahmad Ahmad also stated that aside paying homage to the Asante King, he was also at the Manhyia Palace to learn rich Africa history.

The CAF president was led to the Manhyia Palace by the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi.
