CARA Players Urinate On Baba Yara Pitch… Kotoko Fans Angry

THE PLAYERS of CARA of Congo caused a stir as they allegedly urinated on the pitch at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday.

CARA had been pitched against Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the first-round eliminator of the ongoing Africa Confederations Cup Competition.

The Congolese club, who were to face Kotoko in the first leg in Kumasi on Sunday, was permitted to train at Baba Yara on Saturday.

Per CAFs regulations the away team is allowed to train and have a feel of the pitch 24 hours before the game takes place.

In line with this regulation, Kotoko allowed CARA to train on the Baba Yara pitch on Saturday afternoon to help them prepare well.

Scores of soccer fans in Kumasi, who got wind of CARA’s training session at the Baba Yara Stadium, rushed to the place to watch them.

But the supporters got agitated as the CARA players refused to train but rather decided to openly urinate on the pitch and left.

Some soccer fans, who believe in superstition, said CARA’s weird behaviour may have an impact on the outcome of yesterday’s game.
