Chef Nhyiraba Zulaiha has officially begun a 192-hour cook-a-thon as she attempts to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous cooking marathon by an individual.
The challenge started on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Madina Zongo Astro Turf, where a large crowd of supporters, family members, and well-wishers gathered to witness the launch of the event.
She is expected to cook continuously for about eight days in her bid to complete the 192-hour target and earn a place in the Guinness World Records. The cook-a-thon forms part of her ambition to showcase her skills and put Ghanaian cuisine on the global map.
On the first day of the attempt, Chef Zulaiha showed strong energy and focus as she prepared a variety of meals. She also interacted with people who visited the venue to support her, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.
Supporters at the event cheered her on throughout the day, offering encouragement as she pushed through the early hours of the challenge. The environment was filled with excitement, music, and a strong sense of community backing her effort.
If she succeeds, Chef Nhyiraba Zulaiha will join other Ghanaians who have taken on Guinness World Record challenges, helping to highlight Ghana’s rich food culture on the international stage.
The cook-a-thon will continue until she completes the full 192 hours of continuous cooking, subject to Guinness World Records verification and official guidelines.
