CODA CEO denies tampering with Atta Mills’ tomb

An earlier assertion spearheaded by Brother of the late President and Member of Parliament for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo Abirem, Samuel Atta-Mills, that Koku Anyidoho – an aide to former President John Evans Atta Mills and founder of the Atta Mills Institute together with the Coastal Development Authority has tampered with the tomb of the late President has been denied and describe as fruitless accusation.

This was made known in a statement by CODA signed by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jerry Ahmed Shaib.

The brother of the late President had accused both CODA and Samuel Koku Anyidoho of tampering with the tomb without recourse to the family.

Responding to the accusations, CODA said, “we wish to state that the grave was not opened and therefore no desecration of the body of the former President, H.E John Evans Atta Mills, has taken place.”

The statement said CODA has only been undertaking some renovation works at the burial grounds of the late Professor Atta Mills.

“The Coastal Development Authority, acting upon a directive from the President Akufo-Addo, prioritized the renovation of the burial grounds of the late Professor Atta Mills, former president of the republic. The Authority liaised with relevant state institutions in charge of state monuments before embarking on the renovation works.”

It gave the assurance that the project will be commissioned after completion.
