Colgate Ghana has launched an eight-week scholarship campaign in partnership with Melcom Supermarkets, offering students across the country an opportunity to benefit from educational scholarships worth GH¢240,000.
The initiative, which runs from October to December 18, 2026, will also reward participating customers with Melcom shopping vouchers valued at GH¢120,000, bringing the total value of prizes to GH¢360,000.
The campaign forms part of Colgate’s commitment to promoting education and improving lives through its brand promise of creating smiles that unlock a brighter future.
Under the initiative, customers who purchase two participating Colgate products from any of the 54 Melcom stores nationwide will have the opportunity to nominate a student for a scholarship.
Winners will be selected through weekly draws throughout the eight-week campaign, with successful student nominees receiving scholarships valued at GH¢15,000 each.
Speaking at the launch, the Country Lead of Colgate Ghana, Edward Sonkor, underscored the company’s commitment to supporting education and empowering young people to achieve their academic aspirations.
“We have spent decades caring for smiles across Ghana, but a smile is more than healthy teeth,” he said.
“A smile is confidence. It is the power that helps a child walk into a classroom ready to learn. This campaign builds a culture that celebrates learning and ensures no child is left behind,” Mr. Sonkor added.
He explained that the initiative goes beyond promoting oral healthcare products, as it seeks to make a meaningful contribution to the educational development of children across Ghana.
To ensure that the scholarships directly benefit the selected students, Colgate Ghana indicated that the GH¢15,000 scholarship awards would be paid directly to their respective schools.
The funds will cover educational expenses, including tuition fees, approved school levies, examination registration fees and essential learning materials.
How to Participate
Customers interested in participating in the campaign are required to visit any Melcom supermarket nationwide and purchase two participating Colgate products.
Eligible products include Colgate 140g Herbal, Colgate 140g Maximum Cavity Protection and Colgate 120g Charcoal Gentle Clean.
After making a qualifying purchase, customers can scan the QR code displayed in participating Melcom stores or send the message “Hi” via WhatsApp to 0257483187.
Participants will then be required to submit their Melcom purchase receipts and nominate a student for consideration in the scholarship draws.
The initiative is expected to encourage consumer participation while providing financial assistance to students and their families, particularly those facing challenges in meeting educational expenses.
Colgate Ghana said the campaign reflects its broader commitment to community development, education and improving the well-being of Ghanaians.
Colgate-Palmolive, the parent company of Colgate Ghana, is a global consumer products company with a focus on oral care, personal care, home care and pet nutrition.
The company has maintained a presence in Ghana for decades, providing oral healthcare products while supporting initiatives aimed at promoting healthier communities and improving access to educational opportunities.
The scholarship campaign is scheduled to end on December 18, 2026.
