Farouk Aliu Mahama adjudged 2023 Most Outstanding Politician

Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has pledged to continue his exemplary leadership of development, compassion and a people-first agenda after being adjudged Most Outstanding Politician of the Year 2023 at the Northern Excellence Awards held recently.

He noted that the award demonstrates that standing up for the needs of the ordinary person – as he has done and continues to do – is rewarding.

Mr Aliu Mahama noted that his commitment to, among others, better equip farmers, empower the youth and women, improve healthcare delivery and meet educational needs of students is as a result of the need to build a confident, united and peaceful Yendi.

“On 5th March, 2023, at the Northern Excellence Awards, I received a honorary award which acknowledges me as the “Most Outstanding Politician of the Year, 2023… I am deeply humbled by the Award and I accept the challenge that it imposes on me to continue to lead exemplary leadership hinged on nothing else but development, compassion and people-first.

We are resilient people committed to building a confident Yendi which is united and at peace with ourselves. This underpins my individual initiatives to tool our farmers, empower the youth and women, care about their health, and to support the needy schoolchild,” he said in a statement after the ceremony.

The Northern Excellence Award is an initiative of civic organization Celebrities Charity Development Foundation. The award scheme is aiming at promoting the development of northern Ghana by honouring persons of Northern extraction who distinguish themselves various areas of human endeavour – health, academia, politics, philanthropy, sports, showbiz and arts among others.
