Ghana football in Calamity – Isaac Asiamah

Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah has admitted that the country’s football is in crisis but urged club owners and football administrators to help in the reforms to save Ghana football.

Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah was part of the delegation of government together with Deputy Attorney General, Godfred Dame, and Deputy Chief of Staff, Abu Jinapor, that met FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland to discuss the crisis of Ghana football.

Football in Ghana turned upside down following Anas Aremeyaw Anas investigative piece where over 77 officials, including the former GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, were caught accepting bribes.

According to the Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah, Ghana football is indeed in crisis. The Minister added that football administrators and club owners should help in the reforms to save Ghana football.

“Ghana’s football is in crisis, what we saw on video involves all of us, In totality lets all reform us as club owners, football administers so we can save Ghana Football. Government of Ghana is a friend of FIFA, CAF so we will never interfere with football all what we are doing is to save our football,” – he said.

FIFA in consultation with Government of Ghana and The Confederation of African Football will set up a Normalisation Committee to restructure football in the country.
