Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has restored water supply to several communities in Western Accra following the completion of repairs on a damaged 500mm-diameter main pipeline.
The pipeline was damaged during excavation works undertaken by AWERCO Construction Limited, resulting in a temporary disruption in water supply to affected communities.
In a statement issued on Saturday, August 29, GWL said its engineers and technical teams worked continuously to repair the damaged section and restore water supply.
Areas that have regained water supply include Mallam, Darkuman, Kaneshie, Mataheko, Korle Bu, Mamprobi, Dansoman Township, Chorkor and surrounding communities.
However, GWL cautioned that some customers may experience low water pressure or intermittent flow as pressure within the network stabilises.
The company urged affected customers to bear with the situation as normal service gradually resumes.
GWL also thanked customers and other stakeholders for their patience, cooperation and support during the interruption.
Customers who continue to experience supply challenges have been advised to report them through GWL’s official communication channels.
