Hanna Tetteh Land herself Top UN Job

UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, has announced the appointment of Hanna Serwah Tetteh as Director-General of the United Nations (UN) Office at Nairobi, Kenya.

She is a Ghanaian barrister and politician. She served in the cabinet of Ghana as Minister for Trade and Industry from 2009 to 2013 and Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2017.

The appointment of the Ghanaian politician was announced by UN Secretary-General, António Guterres on Friday, July 13, 2018.

Ms. Tetteh succeeds Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde who has been appointed as Special Representative to the African Union and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU

Ms. Tetteh most recently served in the cabinet of the Government of Ghana as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Trade and Industry.

She was also the former Member of Parliament for the Awutu-Senya West constituency in the Central region.

A practising lawyer who holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana.
