I won’t apologies today, I won’t apologies tomorrow – Big Akwes Tells Cina Soul

Kumawood actor Akwasi Asamoah, popularly known as Big Akwes, has finally reacted to the heavy criticism he received after making harsh remarks about award-winning singer Cina Soul.

Big Akwes was seen at the naming ceremony of Halifax Todd Nana Qwaachi, the younger brother of rising singer Fotocopy, on Sunday, April 6th, 2025.

The event was attended by many celebrities. During the ceremony, TikTok personality and MC, Quecy Official, asked Big Akwes if he would consider withdrawing his comments and apologizing to the singer.

In response, Big Akwes laughed and dismissed the idea, saying he found the public backlash amusing.
“People are upset about that? That’s funny to me,” he said.

Instead of showing regret, the actor encouraged people to rewatch the viral video of Cina Soul that sparked his comments. He suggested that Ghanaians should analyze it again to decide if he was truly wrong.

“Watch the video again and judge for yourselves. Then you’ll know if I was wrong,” he said.

His reaction came shortly after media personality Akosua Takyiwaa apologized to Cina Soul following a controversial discussion on Max TV’s EQuick show.

During the show, Big Akwes made disrespectful comments about Cina Soul’s looks and outfit rather than focusing on her music, especially her new album Did I Lie, which was released on March 14, 2025. Fellow panelists, including comic actor Amankwah Trump, laughed in support, making things worse.

Fans and public figures strongly condemned the panel’s behavior on social media, defending Cina Soul and calling out the disrespect.

This has sparked questions about how the media treats female artistes, with many people urging the industry to focus more on their talent and work rather than appearance.
