Ghanaian musician Thomas Adjei Wireko, commonly known as King Paluta has joined the conversation on who deserves the highly sought-after 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artist of the Year title.
Speaking in an interview on Neat FM, King Paluta acknowledged the ongoing discussions that place him among the top contenders for the award.
He noted that veteran rapper Okyeame Kwame had recently endorsed him as the most deserving artist for the prestigious accolade.
Sharing his thoughts, King Paluta confidently stated that his hard work in 2024 makes him the ideal candidate for the 2025 TGMA Artist of the Year award.
“When 2024 began, the first hit song I released was Odogwu the Bad, Grandfather, featuring King Paluta. Then came Aseda,” he explained.
He highlighted that following the success of Aseda, he won the TGMA awards for Best New Artist and Best Hiplife Song in 2024.
King Paluta emphasized the significance of the Best New Artist award, explaining that it often signals an artist’s rise to greater recognition.
“If you take the Artist of the Year award, the next most important award is Best New Artist. Winning that award meant I was the hardest-working musician in 2023,” he stated.
Recalling interactions with fans, he shared how some predicted his Best New Artist win even before it happened. In 2023, he met supporters at the airport who assured him he would secure the title, a prediction that later came true.
With endorsements from industry figures and fans, King Paluta remains confident about clinching the 2025 Artist of the Year award.
“Since other musicians and fans believe I am the 2025 Artist of the Year, I have no doubt that I will win it,” he affirmed.
King Paluta has built a successful career, winning multiple awards and performing internationally. In 2024, he claimed TGMA’s New Artiste of the Year, Hiplife Artiste of the Year, and Hiplife Song of the Year.
Additionally, he won New Artiste of the Year and Hiplife Song of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Music Awards UK and Europe.
