Kotoko Dumps Eric Bekoe

Eric Bekoe’s hope of re-launching his career with his former club, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has ended in disappointment.

This is because the FA Cup holders have decided not to register him for the league, FA Cup and Africa Confederation Cup campaigns.

Kotoko Coach, Steve Polack, unleashed the bombshell during an interview with Nhyira FM in Kumasi recently.

According to him, he gave Bekoe the opportunity to prove his physical fitness, but he (Bekoe) could not impress him.

Polack said he was aware of Bekoe’s abundant talents, especially with goal scoring, and just wanted to see if he was physically fit.

The Kotoko trainer lamented that he would not have hesitated to give the player a chance to be part of his team, had he been able to prove that he was fit.

“His training was not the best in terms of fitness”, Steve Polack stated, adding, “he had his chance but he blew it”.

Bekoe is reported to have left the Kotoko training grounds at Adako Jarchie after training with the squad for just one day, without informing officials.

He reportedly started granting interviews on radio, saying that he was not a player to undergo justifiers before being registered.

But Polack said; “I did not promise Bekoe a contract. I only told him I wanted to see his fitness but after just one-day training he left and started talking on radio”.
