Madrid defender Marcelo likely to join Juventus soon

Real Madrid ace defender Marcelo is reportedly making a move to join Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. The 33-year-old forward ended his nine year reign with Los Blancos last month after helping them win their 13th Champions League title.

He signed a four-year deal with the Italian League champions valued at £99 million in July after failing to help Portugal avoid crashing out of the 2018 World Cup after losing 2-1 to Uruguay.

However, his former teammate, Marcelo is hoping to reunite with the former Manchester United star in Turin before the start of the new season.

Reports in Spain claim the Brazilian left full back wants to follow Ronaldo to Italy, but Juve already have Alex Sandro and are not desperate for reinforcements.

According to Sunsport, Chelsea, PSG and Manchester United are said to be monitoring Sandro’s situation at the club. Ronaldo on the other hand was quoted to have told Juventus president Andrea Agnelli to make a bid for Marcelo.

But the 30-year-old is tied down on a lucrative contract until 2022 so would only be able to leave with Madrid’s complete blessing. Marcelo’s buy-out fee is a rumoured £160million but that seems extortionate for a veteran.

But there are seismic changes at Madrid, with manager Zinedine Zidane leaving before Ronaldo and Chelsea landing the popular Mateo Kovacic.

This comes just three days after the Turin based club completed the signing of current world best footballer Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

According to the report by Gazzetta dello Sport, the future of current Juventus left back Alex Sandro is not sure at the club, and the club want Marcelo as an alternative.
