Man hangs in Obuasi

A 35 YEAR old man in the Ashanti Region has ended his life through hanging, sparking sorrow among his family members and friends.

Identified as Akwasi Prince, the deceased was reportedly found hanging on a belt, which was firmly tied to the ceiling in his room.

The heartbreaking incident happened at Akapoliso, a farming community in the mining area of Obuasi East District.

Akwasi Prince did not leave behind a suicide note to suggest why he decided to end his life in that bizarre manner.

This has given room to his close relatives and friends to speculate as to what might have influenced him to cut short his life.

Some suspect foul play while other opine that he might have killed himself because of a strange sickness.

One Akwasi Ofori, said to be a brother of the deceased, disclosed that his brother recently complained of some slight sickness.

According to him, he was shocked to the brim when he gathered that his brother had decided to hang himself in his room.

Meanwhile, reports indicated that the matter was reported to the police, who rushed to the crime scene to check the dead body.

Sources said the police investigators, from their initial report, did not spot any mark of a struggle on the lifeless body.

The body had since been deposited in the Obuasi Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy as police probes the case.
