Meet Ghanaian Footballer: Mamudu Moro Making Waves

Walking through Accra and it’s environs normally on Saturday will definitely embrace you with majority of the youth going to and fro to exercise their muscles and in turn exhibit their football prowess on the field with the unwavering dream to make mother Ghana proud some day in their football career. Such has been the story of Mamudu Moro who now finds himself outside Ghana and blazing trails with his talent as a professional footballer.

WHO IS MAMUDU MORO?

Mamudu Moro is a Ghanaian who started his football career with Golden Boot Academy from 2012-2014 at Akosombo in the Eastern Region of Ghana. In early January, 2014, he had an invitation for trials in Sweden with AIK, Sjöbo IF and got signed for a year.

In 2015 he moved to BW 90 and later joined Hassleholm IF; as a result of his mammoth performance, he was signed by Mjällby IF in the year 2016. This granted him to taste the division league in Sweden.

In January, 2018, he was transferred to Helsingborg IF for 2 years in the Superatan League. With his performance, he and his team won the Spartan league which has currently granted him the opportunity to join the Swedish Premier League, Alsveskan.

Out of 30 matches, he played 26 games and scored 9 goals

This heights wouldn’t have been possible for Mamudu without an excellent training here in his motherland which prepared him for the future ahead. Today Mamudu is telling his story to inspire other young talented footballers in Ghana not to ever give up but continue with fear of God, humility, training and persistency which has been his Hall mark for all he has attained as a footballer.

Having been inspired by all time enviable footballers like George Weah, Abedi Pele and the rest, his major priority is to play for the senior national team, The Black Stars of Ghana in order for him to demonstrate his patriotism, dedication and love for his country. For him it will be a dream come through and he is very keen on joining the national team to pay his dues. Recounting some of his challenges as a Ghanaian player abroad, Mamudu addresses the issue of racism which is a common issue facing most black players in the West, adding to that, lack of knowledge about the foreign states customs and laws is also one of the challenges most players face abroad.
