Henry Nana Boakye, National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has described former president John Dramani Mahama as an unfaithful politician and a deceiver who must not be allowed to win political power again.
According to him, even though the former president recently made a U-turn on his intention to cancel the Free SHS policy, he (Mahama) should not be taken for his word.
Former President Mahama, during a recent programme at the Kumasi Technical University (KTU), stated that free SHS is the best policy, and cannot be scrapped since it was a constitutional instrument.
According to him, the constitution of Ghana makes it clear that free education should be practiced in the country to help train the country’s human resource.
He therefore stressed, for the first time, that should he become president again, he would protected and improve upon it.
Nana B Angry
But Nana B, in clear response to Mr. Mahama, said the NDC flagbearer only wanted to benefit some votes from the policy, which had already resonated with the masses.
“Mr. Mahama and the NDC have since 2008, openly condemned the free SHS policy by describing it as one of the worst and impracticable policies.
“Mr. Mahama even said at an IEA debate that the free SHS programme would collapse the Ghanaian economy, so why the suddenly turn to defend free SHS?”, he asked.
Nana B, who was speaking on Hello FM, said Mr. Mahama had realised that the policy had been embraced by a vast majority of Ghanaians, so he wanted to associate himself with it to win some votes.
