NDC Warns Afia Schwarz – Over Minister

A group calling itself the Concerned NDC Members of Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Region says it would not hesitate in compelling Rachel Appoh, a former Member of Parliament of the Constituency to sue controversial Radio and Television personality Afia Schwarzenegger for defamation.

The group said it had noted with concern certain acts aimed at denigrating the personality of Ms Appoh by Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa known in showbiz as Afia Schwarzenegger.

Allegations

According to the NDC group, it strongly protests stories circulating on social media platforms attributed to Afia Schwarzenegger accusing the former MP and Gender Minister of dating one Elikem Kumordzi.

Afia Schwarzenegger via an audio recording according to a statement issued by the group also accused Ms. Appoh of admitting to her an alleged intimate relationship with the said Elikem saying she was begging the boyfriend of her (Afia Schwarzenegger) to date her (Appoh), a statement she (Appoh) has categorically refuted.

It said “Our contention is that, Hon Appoh who is currently in court with his former wedded husband for an act of divorcing and forging of fake divorced documents on the part of the ex-husband and that as a responsible and respected woman of her level and stature, demands all the necessary privacy as far as her relationship life is concerned.”

In the view of the statement signed by one Jehu Appiah, spokesperson for the group and former District Chief Executive (DCE) as well as eight other members of the constituency Ms. Appoh as a matter of fact is not forbidden to renew his relationship life.

It stated “And then again, all the allegations by the latter is malicious and an attempt to tarnish the hard earned reputation of the former MP since Afia is believed to have been contracted by some perpetrators to bring her (Appoh) down to affect her bright career in the political arena.”

Apologise

The pro-Appoh group continued “Since we know how decent our former MP is and has emphatically denied the allegations, we therefore ask Afia to come out and render an unqualified apology to Hon Appoh to let a sleeping dog lay peacefully.  If she fails to do so, we will still support Hon. Appoh in any action that would be taken against her.”

As peace-loving and law abiding people, the group warned that it reserves all the right under the ambit of the law and graciously caution Afia to refrain from such act of what it described as “pettiness and enviness” which in the past has ended her either for wrong reasons or confrontational situations.

The pro-NDC group further argued that it would like to state in no equivocal terms its resolve to do all it could to stand by Ms Appoh and other personalities within the NDC fraternity in the Gomoa Central Constituency and beyond.
