NPP bans members from Manhyia Palace commentary

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed all party members to refrain from commenting on the ongoing issues between the political party and the Manhyia Palace.

The call for silence comes amidst heightened radio discussions in the Ashanti Region, focusing on alleged derogatory comments made about Manhyia Palace by the Ashanti Regional NPP Chair, Bernard Antwi Boasiako.

During a press conference in Kumasi on Monday (22 January) NPP general secretary Justin Koduah stated that party leadership is actively addressing the matter. The directive aims to manage tensions and maintain internal cohesion during this period of controversy.

Additionally, the NPP expressed its commitment to completing stalled projects in the Ashanti Region. Kodua assured the completion of the Kumasi International Airport before the second quarter of the year.

“Before the end of the second quarter, the Kumasi International Airport will be commissioned for flights to move from outside Ghana to the Kumasi International Airport.” Work is also progressing steadily on the Boankra Inland Port and other projects in the region.

Amid preparations for the NPP’s upcoming parliamentary race, approximately 400 individuals obtained forms, with 376 undergoing the vetting process.

The party seeks to maintain focus on its internal processes and regional development projects amidst the ongoing controversies.
