Ofori Amponsah’s Church Turns Beer Bar

Renowned high-life artiste Kofi B has disclosed that the church established by fellow musician, Ofori Amponsah, now operates as a beer bar.

Ofori Amponsah, in 2012 established a church (Family of Faith and Love), after announcing he had been called by God into His vineyard as an evangelist.

However, in an interview with Prince Dadzie, Kofi B revealed that “the church is now operating as a pub where people go to drink and engage in all kinds of activities.”

“Why should a church be turned into a pub? God will surely come and judge us according to what we did on earth,” he continued.

In his view on whether the artiste was called by God, he asserted that his colleague was never called by God like he claimed, but rather ordained himself.

He said the “Rakia” hitmaker would not have abandoned the work of God to do secular music if truly he was called by God.

“Why should someone called by God, abandon God’s work and come back and do highlife music? What wrong has God done to you to give up his work?” he quizzed.

Kofi B believes the award-winning musician established his church to make money from offertories and tithes.

“I have never seen men of God abandon their work. The likes of Otabil and Tackie Yarboi are still working for God,’’ he stressed.

Ofori Amponsah returned in 2016 to release a song (Alewa) which featured Sarkodie, after shortly living a life of a ‘Man of God’.

He is reported to have said the trauma he went through after his wife divorced him some five years ago was the reason he stopped secular music for the altar.

The artist has since released songs with Samini, Sarkodie, Kwabena Kwabena, amongst others.
