Otumfuo displays voters ID card

AN EXCITED looking Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, proudly displayed his voters ID card to the cameras after being issued the card on Monday.

The Asante Monarch successfully went through the entire processes before he was issued the card, which gave him the right to vote on December 7.

Otumfuo, who was accompanied by several servants and some elders of his palace, registered his name at the Manhyia Palace One Registration Center.

Also registering at the center was the wife of the Asantehene, Lady Julia, who also went through the laid down procedures before she got her card.

The Asantehene was accompanied to the registration center by top dignitaries in society, including top government officials in Kumasi and beyond.

In the king’s entourage was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, who doubles as the Education Minister.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah and Kumasi Urban Roads Director, Ing Nana Poku Agyeman, who is a grand nephew of Otumfuo, were there.

The Asantehene did not make any address after he was issued his voters ID card.
