Otumfuo Wishes Nana Well

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed his goodwill to the President Nana Akufo-Addo for his resolve to turn around the fortunes of the country.

According to the Ashanti King, the president was clothed with the mandate of the people to develop the nation to its expected level.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in a brief remark at the Akwasidae Festival at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi yesterday indicated the president also had the blessing of the citizens adding that he would only wish him well in his endeavors

The present however in his speech descended heavily on ex-President Mahama, accusing him of lying about non-existent road projects.

He said, in a desperate attempt to retain political power in 2016, the then President Mahama lied that all the roads in the country have been fixed.

According to the first gentleman of the land, he had toured most areas in the country since he was elected president in 2016, and the roads are strangely missing.

“I have toured most of the regions so far, but I cannot see the first-class roads that Mr. Mahama claimed to have constructed, whilst he was the president””, he said.

President Nana Akufo-Addo said he tried to correct the erroneous picture that Mr. Mahama wanted to portray about the road projects, but he (Nana) was verbally attacked.

“Otumfuo, I tried to let Ghanaians know that the so-called road project by the NDC government was a fallacy so they should not believe in it.”

“But sadly for me, Mr. Mahama quickly replied that I have been sleeping and that is why I have not seen his road projects across all over the country”.

President Akufo-Addo stated that it has now become evident that Mr. Mahama rather peddled falsehood, saying “I was not sleeping as he alleged at the time”.

He assured that even though his government inherited a virtually weak economy, he would strive to fix all the problems that the NDC bequeathed to him.

According to the president, infrastructural development remains one of his main agenda, adding that provision of jobs would also be tackled with all seriousness.

The president therefore appealed to Ghanaians to give him some time and rally behind his government, assuring that he would deliver to the satisfaction of the people.

Top government officials including Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, Alan Kyeremanten, Kan Dapaah, Osafo Marfo and others were there.
