Photos: Miss Commonwealth 2019 launched

The second edition of Miss Commonwealth Ghana has been launched at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

The beauty pageant is similar to Miss Commonwealth International held in the United Kingdom every year and is powered by the Princess Duncan Foundation, owned by reigning Miss Commonwealth International, Princess Duncan.

Speaking at the launch, Princess Duncan said: “Miss Commonwealth Ghana aims at showcasing the rich Ghanaian and African cultures to promote peace among African nations and the entire world.”

   

She revealed that the lucky winner of the second edition of the pageant would receive Ghc5000.00, a saloon car and a trip to the United Kingdom.

According to her, first and second runner-ups will also be rewarded with a good amount of cash and other items from sponsors.

She then announced that audition for the 2019 edition is scheduled for 3rd August to 7th September at Alisa Hotel whiles the forms goes for Ghc100.

She noted Miss Commonwealth Ghana second edition is going to be different, compared to other pageants as organizers will employ international beauty pageant standards.

The ceremony was graced by Ekwoba Gyasi, Operations Manager for Atinka media village, past winners of the beauty pageant, Iran Ambassador among other traditional leaders.
