Police arrests five persons for forcibly removing DCE from office

The Volta Regional Police Command has arrested five persons involved in the disturbances at the office premises of the District Chief Executive for Krachi West, Oti Region on Monday.

According to reports, the five persons forcibly removed the DCE for Krachi West, Hon. Douglas Osei-Nti from his office and also locked the office, thereby preventing the DCE from carrying out his duties

The arrested persons are Mathias Banyolonso, Sarfo Sunkwa, Amos Eseikor , Tijani Shaibu and Murtala Yakubu, all believed to be former constituency executives of Krachi West NPP.

A statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr David Senanu Eklu said the suspects are being investigated for assault by imprisonment, offensive Conduct, and causing unlawful damage among others.

The Police Administration in the statement assured the general public that it will continue to provide adequate security for all well-meaning citizens and residents of Ghana.
