Police Gets Support to Fight Crime

THE ASHANTI Regional Police Command has received a massive boost in their quest to make crime a thing of the past in the region.

This follows the decision of the 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club to pledge their commitment to support the police.

According to the President of the Club, DCOP Duku is one of them and that members were duty-bound to assist him to succeed.

“He is a member of our club so we are assuring him of our unflinching support in delivering his mandate to curb crime”, he said.

Mr. Abebe was speaking when officials of the Mess Tennis Club paid a courtesy call on the newly-appointed regional commander in his office.

He said apart from assisting him, the club had decided to come out with an annual tennis tournament to honour the regional commander.

Mr. Abebe hinted that the competition, dubbed: ‘DCOP Kwasi Duku Tournament’ is aimed at boosting the image of the police chief.

A patron of the club, Samuel Ampadu-Kyei, aka ‘Kyikyiss’, lauded DCOP Duku for his visionary leadership and said he deserved commendation.

Responding, Duku, who looked overwhelmed by the praises being showered on him, promised to work assiduously to boost security in the region.
