Police Ready for Xmas Robbers… 4,200 Policemen Released
ARMED ROBBERS have been sternly warned not to practice their illegal profession during the yuletide season in the Ashanti region.
Any armed robber that would try to rob people in the region would be instantly apprehended to face the law, the security agents have cautioned.
Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah, said the command has deployed 4,200 policemen to provide security during the Christmas season.
He said the police is aware that hoodlums, usually take advantage of business boom in the city to rob unsuspecting people.
DCOP Yeboah noted that the command is battle ready to arrest any hoodlum that would try to take the law into their hands.
According to him, as measures to make the yuletide an incident-free affair, the police have increased patrols in the region, notably Kumasi.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander noted that police snap check points has also been increased in the region to thwart the efforts of robbers.
DCOP Yeboah said fire crackers have been banned across the country, so the people in the Ashanti region should take note.
He stated that the selling and usage of fire crackers are outlawed therefore anybody that would flout the law would be dealt with.
He also warned drivers not disobey road and traffic regulations during the holiday season, saying that the police would arrest offending drivers.
