ARMED POLICEMEN will be guarding markets in the Kumasi Metropolis, during the Christmas season.
This important decision was taken by the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) during a meeting, recently.
The move is to help prevent criminals and other bad people from attacking the markets during the Yuletide.
The Head of the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC), Simon Osei Mensah, made the announcement.
Criminals usually take advantage of Christmas holidays to attack markets and other important places in the city.
Osei Mensah, who is also the Ashanti Regional Minister, said installations of utility companies would be guarded.
Speaking on Hello fm in Kumasi, he stated that REGSEC wants Kumasi residents to celebrate Christmas in peace.
The Minister also said police patrols in Kumasi and other roads in the Ashanti Region would be increased soon.
