France’s teenage sensation and PSG player, Kylian Mbappe has been banned for three matches following his red card against Nimes last weekend, the French league announced on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old was sent off after he pushed Teji Savanier after the Nimes player hacked him to the ground.
The incident occurred after he scored in the match which PSG won 4-2.
The French champions will be without Mbappe for Ligue 1 games against Saint-Etienne on September 14, Rennes on September 23 and Reims three days later.
The young attacker will miss Ligue 1 games against Saint-Etienne, Rennes and Reims, while Savanier has been given a five-match ban for his dismissal.
The World Cup winner apologised to the PSG fans after the game, saying that he “ruined our excellent team success”.
PSG Thomas Tuchel came to his defence, saying that the 19-year-old was reacting to “a horrible foul”
