Richarlison, Danso & Sarr Seek To Leave Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto de Zerbi has confirmed that Richarlison, Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr have asked to leave the club amid growing uncertainty over their futures.

The three players were left out of Tottenham’s matchday squad as Spurs suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday. The result leaves Tottenham at the bottom of the Premier League table after losing their opening two matches of the season without scoring.

Speaking after the defeat, De Zerbi said the players had made their desire to leave clear.

“Richarlison, I don’t know. He said too many times he wants to leave. Danso came to me two days ago and he said wants to leave and Pape Sarr the same, but he suffered a small injury, but he is almost ready to train.

“I have very good relationships but if they want to leave, they have to bring the solution, the economic solution, to the club, and they can go.”

Tottenham have spent more than £300m during the summer transfer window as they attempt to improve their fortunes after finishing 17th in the Premier League in each of the past two seasons.

Despite the major investment, Spurs have endured a poor start to the new campaign, losing to Brentford before Saturday’s defeat by Newcastle.

Richarlison’s possible departure would be particularly significant for Tottenham. The Brazilian scored 11 goals last season, making him the club’s leading scorer, while also playing an important leadership role during their battle to avoid relegation.

Tottenham secured Premier League survival on the final day of last season. Earlier this month, De Zerbi admitted there was uncertainty over Richarlison’s future but stressed his importance to the team, saying, “it’s not easy to find another striker like Richarlison”.

The club has since strengthened its attack with the loan signing of Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian started against Newcastle in place of Richarlison.

Danso is also facing increased competition for a place in central defence. The Austria international, who has 36 caps for his country, has seen new arrivals Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke join the competition for defensive positions.

Micky van de Ven has also strengthened his position at the club after signing a new contract and being named captain.

Sunderland previously made an approach to sign Danso on a season-long loan, but Tottenham rejected the offer.

Sarr’s position in midfield has also become more difficult following the arrivals of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. Tottenham had earlier broken their club-record transfer fee twice in one week as part of their major summer spending.

Juventus confident over Sarr move

Pape Matar Sarr could be heading to Italy, with Juventus reportedly confident of securing the Senegal international on loan.

Sources in Italy say Juventus are working on a season-long loan deal that could include a conditional obligation to buy the 23-year-old midfielder.

Sarr has attracted interest from several clubs, including teams in the Premier League and Turkish side Besiktas.

Juventus are understood to believe they can win the race for his signature if they reach an agreement that satisfies Tottenham.

The exact conditions of the potential permanent transfer are still being discussed. Juventus would reportedly be willing to sign Sarr permanently if he makes a certain number of appearances and helps the club qualify for either the Champions League or Europa League.

Juventus remain strong contenders because the interested English clubs are offering only loan arrangements. Besiktas, meanwhile, are prepared to make a permanent offer that would also give Sarr a substantial pay rise.
