Rotary Club of Tamale screens 168 girls in breast cancer awareness drive

The Rotary Club of Tamale has screened 168 girls as part of its annual breast cancer awareness project held at Our Lady of Fatima R/C JHS in Tamale.

The programme, held on Friday, October 23, 2026, was organised under the theme “Early Action, Better Outcomes” to promote breast health, raise awareness and encourage early detection.

A total of 318 students participated in the awareness programme, while 201 community members, including primary school pupils and women within the school community, also benefited from the initiative.

The screening identified two cases requiring further attention, although neither involved breast lumps.

The Rotary Club of Tamale said the initiative forms part of its commitment to promoting community health and empowering young people and women with knowledge to take proactive steps towards their health.

The club encouraged the public to prioritise breast health and seek timely medical attention when concerns arise.
