Mohamed Salah has ended all rumours about his future by signing a new contract with Liverpool.
The 32-year-old Egyptian star has agreed to stay at the club until 2027, according to Sky Sports News.
This is a big boost for Liverpool, as Salah has been in excellent form this season. He has scored 27 goals and provided 17 assists, helping Liverpool move to the top of the Premier League and pushing them closer to winning their 20th league title.
Since joining Liverpool, Salah has won many trophies with the club. These include the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Speaking to Liverpool’s official media, Salah said, “Of course, I’m very excited. We have a great team now, just like before. I signed this new deal because I believe we can win more trophies together and enjoy playing football.”
Salah added, “I’ve had my best years here. I’ve played eight years, and hopefully, it will become ten. I’m enjoying my life and football here. I’m very happy and I want the fans to know that. I believe we can win big things together. Keep supporting us and we’ll do our best.”
Liverpool’s head coach, Arne Slot, also shared his thoughts. “We’re all happy that Mo has signed a new deal. He’s been very important to the team and the club for many years. The fans and his teammates are all happy.”
Slot revealed that he had known for some time that the contract talks were going well. “It’s also a big achievement for Richard Hughes to convince a player like Salah to stay. As a free agent, he could have gone anywhere in the world, but he chose to stay at Liverpool.”
He continued, “I was involved in the process, but the real credit goes to Salah and his agent for making the choice, and to the club’s leadership for their efforts. It’s not just about money, but also about belief in the future.”
Slot said Salah’s decision shows that the club is not only focused on this season but is also planning for success in the future.
