Antoine Semenyo registered his sixth assist of the 2024–2025 season in an unusual but brilliant way, helping AFC Bournemouth claim a 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal took the lead in the first half through Declan Rice, but Bournemouth equalized after the break with a stunning long throw-in from Semenyo, which Dean Huijsen headed into the net.
The match-winner came from Evanilson, who scored his 10th goal of the season to secure all three points for the Cherries. The victory also meant Bournemouth completed a league double over Arsenal for the first time in their history.
Semenyo has now contributed to 17 goals this season in all competitions, scoring 11 and assisting six. The result lifts Bournemouth to eighth place on the Premier League table with 53 points, two points ahead of ninth-placed Fulham.
With just three games left, the team is seven points away from qualifying for European football for the first time ever.
Next up, Bournemouth will host seventh-placed Aston Villa in a crucial clash at the Vitality Stadium.
Meanwhile, in Bulgaria, 27-year-old Bernard Tekpetey celebrated his fifth league title with Ludogorets Razgrad.
Despite a serious knee injury limiting him to only seven matches and two goals this season, he joined the team in celebrating their title win after beating Cherno More.
Olivier Verdon scored the opening goal just before halftime, and Swiss-Ghanaian striker Kwadwo Duah sealed the victory for the Eagles. The speedy winger has won league titles in each of his five seasons with Ludogorets, accumulating nine trophies with the club. Tekpetey is expected to play a key role next season.
