Mr. Gabriel Kwabla Kwamigah – recently cut sod for the commencement of work on community water supply project in Avalavi in the Ketu North Municipal to end the long acute water shortage problem in the community.

The project which has commenced operation when completed is expected to supply water to the people of Avalavi and its environs.

Due to the inability of water in the community, aged women skip sleep all the time to queue for just a basin of water for use by their families and school going children.

In November last year, he donated large consignment of medical equipment and supplies to the Ketu North Municipal hospital which helped the facility to start operational duties recently.

The items he donated included three brand new air conditioners, one brand new haojue motorbike, one brand new refrigerator, microwave, boxes of surgical gloves, boxes of facial masks, street lights and an undisclosed amount of money.

He said the gesture was to improve the quality of healthcare delivery in the region, where health facilities had been grappling with challenges with equipment and other relevant supplies over the years.

“The intention of my little act of philanthropy is to assist in ameliorating the negative impacts of the seemingly diminishing government’s efforts in the redistribution of medical supplies regime, which is supposed to help cater largely for the teeming uninsured and impoverished citizens living within the catchment enclave of the hospital.

“It is my candid belief and hope that this gesture will ultimately grant my people an uninterrupted round-the-clock and highly affordable access to a first class healthcare delivery system, which is undoubtedly a fundamental citizens’ right as well as a basic human necessity”.

He added, “I humbly would want to use this opportunity to once again extend a lot of thanks and appreciation to the former President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the MP, Hon. Dr. James Klutse Avedzi for their relentless efforts at ensuring that the good people of Ketu North have adequate access to a world class healthcare services through a state-of-the-art project that only a few districts were considered for.

“I also am sincerely grateful to the first and current management of the hospital for genuinely accepting to champion the Public Private Partnership (PPP) module which will certainly go a long way to help in oiling the mission, vision and the developmental agenda set for the facility.”

Medical Superintendent, Dr. Wilson Edem Sarbah at a ceremony few months ago to operationalize the hospital to start admission, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients, among other duties expressed his appreciation to Mr. Tanko for his support in seeing the hospital starts operating.

He remarked, “Togbe Chairman, permit me to also express our profound gratitude to one gentleman of the land in the person of Mr. Kwamega Atokple Gabriel Tanko, who donated three (3) air conditioners for our General and Pharmacy stores for the preservation of medications and non-drug consumables. Mr. Tanko also donated one motor bike, surgical gloves one fridge, microwave and face masks to the hospital.

“Togbe Chairman, the motor bike donated by Mr. Tanko is the only official form of transport for the hospital. Mr. Tanko, on behalf of the chiefs, the people of Ketu North Municipality and staff of the hospital we say “Ayikoo”.
