Wollacott join Stars team for Portugal game

Black Stars goalkeeper, Joseph Wollacott joined the Black Star’s team camp in Qatar on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 to motivate his teammates ahead of the game against Portugal.

Wollacott who did not make the final 26-man squad for the World Cup due to injury will meet up with the team to support them in their opening game against Portugal.

The 26-year old who was crucial to Ghana’s World Cup qualification missed out on the chance to feature in his first World Cup.

The Black Stars will open their campaign against Portugal at the 971 Stadium in Doha on Thursday, November 24 at 4pm.

Ghana will later take on South Korea and Uruguay in the other Group H matches.

Meanwhile Afriyie Barnieh, Joseph Aidoo, and Jordan Ayew grabbed the headlines on Photo Day for the team.

After arriving in Qatar, members of the Black Stars playing body and technical team took turn turns taking photos for official use in the tournament.

Head coach Otto Addo delivered a stern look while members of his playing unit showcased a wide range of eye-catching poses that were caught on camera.

Accra Hearts of Oak’s Daniel Afriyie Barnieh delivered his version of Bafetimi Gomis’s infamous “Lion’s Roar” goal celebration.

Fellow forward, Jordan Ayew invoked his likeness for the Marvel Universe by striking the “Wakanda Forever” pose, popularized in mainstream media by the hit movie, Black Panther.

However, Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo delivered an awkward-yet-hilarious pose, and many fans had a fun time on social media attempting to interpret the message he was trying to deliver.
