Xavi ‘rejects’ Barcelona job

The decision to appoint Xavier Hernández Creus, known as Xavi as the next manager for Spanish club, Barcelona might not come to reality.

This is because Qatari side, Al Sadd has shut down claims suggesting the former Catalan midfielder is likely to depart from their side.

The Qatari side released an official statement expressing their frustration at the continuing rumors about their current coach.

The club’s media officer, Ahmed Al Ansari, took to twitter beginning of the whole news with a pretty pointed message.

“There is no official offer on the table from any party. Any club that has a bit of professionalism is supposed to negotiate with the other side if it wants a player or coach who is under contract” he indicated.

Barcelona President Joan Laporta however was reluctant on giving too much information about Xavi when asked about him at a press conference on Friday. The club chief admitted he’s been in touch with Xavi but added “we also have other options.”

“We have great references about Xavi at Al Sadd. All our reports about Xavi are positive. We can talk a lot about Xavi, but I cannot give you more details. He is in all the papers, but we also have other options.”
