Prophet Ogyaba has criticized Bishop Daniel Obinim over the ongoing controversies surrounding his marriage and public disputes linked to alleged infidelity rumours.
During a live TikTok session seen by GhanaWeb on June 16, 2026, Prophet Ogyaba did not hold back as he described Bishop Obinim as becoming “louder on his pulpit.”
According to him, he had stayed quiet for some time, waiting for the right moment to respond after Obinim earlier criticised him during his own controversy involving an alleged side chick. But in this latest response, Ogyaba clearly felt it was his “turn” to speak.
“You are so loud on your pulpit. Have you seen how the world works? My issue wasn’t even about marriage, but yours is, and look at how you have brought your marital issues onto your pulpit.
“One of my chiefs even got angry and wanted to call you out, but I told him to stop. I told them your time would come. Now look at how you have personally disclosed these issues and made yourself a subject of public discussion and mockery,” he said.
In his comments, Prophet Ogyaba also gave what sounded like serious advice wrapped in a warning. He told Bishop Obinim to handle his marriage properly and not allow it to become a public drama series that people follow episode by episode.
He further cautioned Obinim to consider returning Florence Obinim to her family if he no longer wants to continue the marriage.
According to him, marriage should not be forced, and no one should suffer in silence under religious authority or “anointing.”
“If you think you are no longer interested in the woman, take her back to her family. Do what is expected of you as a husband and return to her respectfully. Do not hide under the influence of anointing and make her go through pain or push her into an untimely situation,” he added.
While the two men of God exchange words in public, another layer of controversy continues to unfold around Bishop Daniel Obinim and actress Benedicta Gafah.
The tension escalated after Benedicta Gafah shared screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation between herself and the International Godsway Chapel founder. The screenshots appeared to be her way of responding to claims and rumours involving her name.
Benedicta had earlier described Bishop Obinim as a “chronic liar” and a “disgusting” person in an Instagram post. This came after Obinim reportedly said during a sermon that he had blocked her on social media.
Obinim, however, explained that the controversy surrounding his wife, Florence Obinim, and Benedicta had pushed him to block the actress to avoid further speculation and confusion.
But Benedicta was not convinced by that explanation. She insisted she was the one who blocked him, not the other way around, and backed her claim with WhatsApp screenshots.
In the alleged chat, she expressed frustration over her name being repeatedly dragged into public discussions. She also addressed Florence Obinim directly, urging her to stop mentioning her in interviews related to alleged romantic links with the bishop.
“Disrespectfully, tell your wife to keep my name out of her mouth. I’ve literally not spoken to you since before COVID. I only called you in December when I kept seeing the news trending. I can be very respectful if I want to, and I can also be extremely disrespectful.
“…Is she serious? What have I done to her? Every conversation we had in December was recorded.”
She also made further claims, suggesting that Obinim had once spoken to her about his wife’s appearance and personal habits.
“You were the one who said you had told her to stop whatever she keeps applying to her face and that she didn’t look good. If she wants to play this game, then let it begin. I’m tired of my name constantly being associated with you and your wife.”
Another alleged screenshot showed Bishop Obinim responding in a calmer and apologetic tone. In the message, he appeared to try to de-escalate the situation.
“Afia, please calm down, okay. I have no intention of disrespecting you in any way. I have no idea about the interviews, so don’t blame me or put me in this situation. I will do my best to make sure she doesn’t mention your name again.
“I’m sorry if you are hurt or annoyed. Please forgive me. I don’t want any issues in Ghana… I have suffered enough, please,”
The leaked chat also showed multiple missed calls from Obinim before Benedicta reportedly blocked him. As of now, Bishop Daniel Obinim has not publicly confirmed or responded to the screenshots or claims.
