Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has raised alarm over threats to his life under the current John Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
In a video circulating on X, the fire brand politician, speaking in an interview with Asaase Pa FM on March 18th 2025, claimed he was being followed by unidentified operatives, fueling concerns about his safety.
“These NDC guys are monitoring my movements. My life is in danger. I don’t feel safe under Mahama’s administration,” he alleged.
Despite the threats, Abronye DC has vowed to remain in Ghana, refusing to back down.
“I will not leave the country. I will stay and suffer. If I get hurt, the government must be held responsible. I am informing the international community about this situation. They want to silence me, but I won’t stop speaking the truth, as far as am alive, I will make sure that the Mahama administration finishes the project promised to the teachers,” he declared.
His claims come on the heels of a recent invitation by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) over his explosive allegation that the Mahama government misappropriated over GHS 550 million intended for dismissed recruits and appointees.
During an interview on Movement TV, Abronye DC asserted that the revocation of appointments made after December 7, 2024, was a calculated move to siphon the allocated funds. He further alleged that the money was withdrawn from the Bank of Ghana and transported in a bullion van to the Jubilee House.
As tensions rise, these claims are likely to spark further political debate, with many awaiting an official response from the government.
