D-Black: I’ve never been sexual with my female artistes

Renowned Ghanaian rapper and founder of Black Avenue Muzik, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, famously known as D-Black, has denied allegations of having intimate relationships with female artistes signed to his record label.

Speaking in an interview on Accra FM, he clarified that while he owns the label, he does not directly manage any of the artistes, making such claims baseless.

“I’ve never had any sexual involvement with any artiste I’ve signed. I don’t manage female artistes, or any artistes, for that matter. There’s always a designated manager handling them on my behalf. I’m not an artiste manager; I simply own the label,” he stated.

Addressing the misconception surrounding his relationships, D-Black explained that his preference in women differs from public perception. Contrary to assumptions based on the women seen around him at social events, he revealed that he is more attracted to simple, career-driven women.

“People assume the women they see with me at clubs, parties, or on social media are my type, but that’s far from the truth. My ideal woman is poised, traditional, and not flashy. The mother of my children, for example, is a doctor who doesn’t even wear artificial nails. I admire quiet, career-focused women who stay in their lane,” he added.

D-Black, known for hit songs like Vera, Kotomoshi, and Wo’ara, continues to make strides in the music industry. His latest project, The Ghanaian Visa, his sixth studio album, was set for release on March 6. The album features top Ghanaian artistes, including Stonebwoy, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, and Joyce Blessing.

With this clarification, D-Black reaffirms his commitment to maintaining professional boundaries with his signees while focusing on his music career.
