Dornukie supports 2026 Asafotufiam festival ….with items, cash donations

The Chief Executive Officer of Dornukie Foundation, Ms. Dornukie Naa Norteye, has donated various items to some key stakeholders in the Ada Traditional Area as the Chiefs and people prepare feverishly for the 89th Asafotufiam Festival.

The items, which included assorted soft drinks, biscuits, water and undisclosed sums of money, all valued at over GHS50,000.00, formed part of her social responsibility towards the smooth celebration of Ghana’s indisputably largest traditional festival.

The CEO, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, and accompanied by executives of the Foundation, paid a courtesy call on Djetse Abram Kabu Akuaku III, Paramount Chief and President of the Ada Traditional Council, in his palace, and later to Naana Kabukuor Dagodjo Dumaaley I, Paramount Queen Mother of the Ada Traditional Area, to present the items.

Receiving the donations, the two apex traditional leaders thanked the Foundation for what they described as ‘Dornukie’s Annual Support for the festival.

From there, the team, in recognition of the men and women who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure a safe and successful celebration of the festival, also donated essential items to the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, and Ghana National Fire Service in the Ada Constituency, as their dedication and sacrifice remain vital to the success of the festival each year.

The day concluded with meaningful engagements with several youth groups across the constituency, listening and sharing ideas with residents, and reaffirming a shared vision for the future of Ada. She noted that investing in young people remains one of the most enduring ways to build a stronger community.

Speaking exclusively to The New Publisher Newspaper, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, who is also a former Parliamentary Candidate for the Ada Constituency, says she considers the donations as both an honour and a lifelong responsibility to continue serving the people of Ada.

Leadership, according to her, is defined by purpose, adding that her commitment to the development, unity, and progress of Ada remains unwavering. To her, Ada deserves Better than the state it finds itself today.

The week-long festival is slated to begin this Thursday.
