Veteran Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has sparked discussions after claiming that the entertainment industry is controlled by “demons” and created to “extol satanism.”
The actor made the comments during a recent interview with media personality Joey Akan, where he shared his views on fame, success, and spirituality in the entertainment world.
According to Jim Iyke, many people in the industry focus on promoting themselves and treating themselves as more important than others. He described this as a form of self-worship, which he linked to satanism.
The actor explained that he once believed he was special because of the attention and admiration he received from fans. He said people would cry and faint whenever he entered a room, making him feel highly valued. However, he later realised that this was a form of self-worship after he became closer to God.
Jim Iyke said people in the entertainment industry need to make deliberate efforts to stay connected to God instead of focusing only on fame, power, and personal glory.
He said, “There is no bigger enabler than the entertainment industry. This is where demons live. Entertainment is totally created and orchestrated to extol the virtues of Satanism.
“What in the entertainment industry glorifies God except you intentionally or consciously pursue him? Is it the blatant life?
“What do we extol that is godly? I am not saying God doesn’t exist in the entertainment industry; I am saying the entertainment industry is predominantly created for Satanism.”
The actor added that creativity is a gift from God, but some people in the entertainment space use their success to serve themselves rather than God.
“As a creative, to create is to mimic God. But in the entertainment structure, many serve self. You can’t serve God and serve self. That is a conflict of interest. Serving self is satanism itself,” he said.
Jim Iyke further explained that fame can make people feel like they are above others and should be treated differently.
“When you extol yourself to god-like status, when you think you should be worshipped or the laws should not apply to you anymore, you are literally worshipped,” he said.
The actor encouraged creatives to seek a deeper relationship with God, saying true greatness comes from finding God rather than seeking personal admiration.
